Books I read in February 2022

Happy end of the month of love! You know what that means - hatred! I joke! However it has been a slow month on the reading front for me as I have been traveling. So here is my review of the books I finished this month! Both of these are non fiction.

Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell

I had started reading Blink in January and I have been thoroughly enjoying having my biases questioned. The book lays bare the effect and need to make instantaneous decisions. It talks about the role our biases play in forming our blink decisions. As someone who believes in slowing down and thinking through each decision leading to the end result of decision paralysis this was definitely an interesting read. It helped me create a framework on how and when to make blink decisions and when to slow down and evaluate the decision in its entirety. A book I would definitely recommend.

Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller

I had been recommended this book when talking about personality types and when I was discussing love languages. The book talks about the different attachment styles that people have in relationships and what needs they have from a relationship. It further talks about the fractures that rise in a relationship when people with mismatched styles are in a relationship. The interesting point that I want to dig into some more is how often people's attachment styles can change or how long it takes for that to happen. The book claims that it takes a while. However I think that a traumatic relationship can cause this change to happen over a short period of time. Something to think about.

Here is to more reading next month!
