Accutane skin care routine
I am currently ending month 6 of accutane and have done a video update a few months ago. This is a blog covering my skin care routine with accutane. I have definitely stripped back my routine to what I KNOW works for my skin and this is it!
Skincare
Cleanser: I use the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta® AHA/BHA Daily Cleansing Gel it’s gentle on my skin while leaving it feeling clean. However, I do think that I can I can switch to a cheaper face wash when I run out.
Serums:
I am a die hard SkinCeuticals Silymarin fan. The Vitamin C has kept my texture even well before I was on Accutane and I can see the results even better with a less acne prone skin!
Eye cream: This is a relatively new addition to my skin care routine. I don’t have one I particularly care about since I don’t see a difference. However, I do want to get one with Vitamin C. I might grab this one by Paula Choice in the next
Moisturizer: My dermatologist didn’t mince her words when she said that nothing but the CeraVe moisturizer would cut it. I bought a huge tub that I am SLOWLY making my way through.
Lip care: My lips are chapped and cracking. Nothing but Dr. Dan’s Cortibalm will help. In fact, I in fact have the lip balm on subscription!
Bodycare
Yes, surprise surprise my body is dry too! So here is what helps:
Exfoliant:
Moisturizer: I alternate between the following:
The Aveeno lotion leaves my skin feeling a bit sticky so it’s a great night time lotion.
The Glossier Dry Oil Mist feels luxurious and is great for during the day - I love it’s smell.
If I can’t be faffed with an oil, I will happily substitute the Glossier Dry Mist with the Body Hero Perfecting Cream as well.
