Santorini: an itinerary

Greece and very specifically Santorini have been on my list for ages. So when I had a week break between two work trips in Europe, stopping over in Europe was a no-brainer. Here is my itinerary for Santorini! You can find my itinerary for Athens here.

*Note: Things I researched but didn’t end up doing are denoted with a `` (asterisk)* Hikes linked below are pitched at an easy level*

Accommodation

I stayed at the Nous Santorini, they were kind enough to upgrade me to a suite with a pool and it made the entire experience a 100 times more magical. I never wanted to leave the hotel suite! It even had an outdoor shower!

I got to Santorini by boat via Aegean Sea Ferries. I also rented a car to get around. I definitely dented my car so I am in two minds about whether it was a good idea or not!

Activities

  • Aegean Sea ferry to commute between islands.

  • Perissa Beach

  • Akrotiti Archaelogical site

  • Red beach

  • Ammoudi Bay

  • Open air cinema Kamari

  • Oia

    • Blue Dome Church

    • Oia steps

    • Oia Castle

  • Fira

    • Hondos Center - definitely not worth the trip

    • Walk around the city

    • Lucky’s Souvlaki*

    • Santorini cable car*

  • Didn’t do

    • Kofini Santorini Fruit & Vegetable Market

  • Hike (more)*

  • Estate Argyros

  • Sunset at Oia castle

    • I did see this location, however I left before sunset due to the heat and crowds. I would definitely go to see Oia before 10 am as you can take the key pictures before the crowds!
