Books I read in November 2023
I have already declared bankruptcy on 2023 - so welcome to 2024!!! Which means I am still reading! Woohoo! November continued to have me all over the place - mentally, emotionally and actually physically.
StrengthsFinder 2.0: From Gallup by Tom Rath
At work as a. bonding exercise my team took the Strengths Finder test and I got this book as a result. It was a good manual to go through to as I learned more about my team’s strength. Not a book I am running to recommend to anyone.
Deluxe by Dana Thomas
I like most people consume fashion consciously but I wanted to understand more about the consumption pattern of luxury fashion and how it has evolved. For the me the most interesting part was learning about the rise of the Arnaults and how the luxury industry structures itself to attract a growing clientele. I would not recommend this to folks looking to learn something new as anything in this book is available on Wikipedia easily and the book doesn’t raise any new points about the industry.
Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood
I am super behind on Ali Hazelwood and after reading this book I am angry at myself for that. Ali Hazelwood is the president of STEMinist rom com, so why was I unaware of her for so long?? Love on the Brain is the “perceived“ enemy to lovers and close proximity but in a NASA lab between a NASA engineer and our protagonist - a NIH neuroscientist. It’s definitely up there as my favourite books this year (all of which may be rom coms lol).
