Key West: an itinerary
If you saw my Stockholm itinerary, I didn’t stop my tour of Scandinavia there! I went onto what has now potentially become my favourite city in Europe - COPENHAGEN! So here are my recommendations
*Note: Things I researched but didn’t end up doing are denoted with a `` (asterisk)*
Accommodation
We stayed at the Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club booked via Booking.com. The hotel was lovely, clean and had free parking. We only spent nights here so it did the job and I can’t say more about the hotel.
Activities
Bahia Honda State Park - Park with 3 sandy beaches, kayak rentals & snorkeling tours. We just drove up and spent time on the beaches here.
Southern most point of the USA - on a clear day you can apparently see all the way to Cuba!
Snorkeling at Islamorada - we went with Robbie’s and had a lovely time and saw loads of marine life at Alligator Reef Lighthouse!
Hang out a sandbar or kayak around it! We spent time at Vaca Keys with Sunset Watersports
Watch the sunset at Mallory Square with an ice cream from Gladiator’s ice cream
The Hemingway Home and Museum* - I have some regrets about not going here!
Smathers Beach* for a good beach-y time!
Fort Zachary State Park beach* - why not get a fort and a beach in one go??
Food
Amigos Tortilla Bar - don’t expect mind bogglingly great food on the Key West but this definitely hit the mark.
Kermit’s Key Lime pie - you can’t go to Key West and not eat Key Lime pie!
