Books I read in April 2024

Told you the break in Romance was short lived! Strap in ladies and gentlemen!

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

This is the prequel to Yours Truly and while Yours Truly was amazing this book didn’t capture me in the same way. I do appreciate the heaviness of the trauma that Alexis experiences but find the story of her family lacking in depth. So definitely not her best book for me, but a great romance book nonetheless.

Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams

I know I said I wouldn’t read these books anymore and I didn’t want to. But they were available and make for good treadmill reading. So here we are. I love a good friends to lover and this was sweet too for that very reason.

A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams

No comment. Read it in two hours if you need. Don’t go any further. Save yourself. This is a poorly written take on grumpy sunshine.

Post Corona: From Crisis to Opportunity by Scott Galloway

I read this book to see if this book stood the test of time in the learnings and insights that Scott Galloway made. And it did to a certain extent. Which makes me want to read more of his recent publications and listen to his podcasts.

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

Justin is my favourite romantic lead. Let’s just say forms are involved and he is consistent. I love Emma as a protagonist as well. It‘s the acknowledgement that women can and usually have trauma from our past relationships and parental relationships. It’s a beautiful heart breaking and rejoining story and definitely my favourite summer read even above Funny Story by Emily Henry. And it’s all because of Justin.

Funny Story by Emily Henry

I love Miles and Daphne, they are my second favourite Emily Henry couple. Right after Nora and Charlie. I love Miles for his kindness and I love the female friendships in this book more than any other. They are flawed and yet there for each other. I love the farmer market trips and that this book made me want to try Lavender lemonade this summer. Just love this book!

Wild Love by Elsie Silver

This book was over hyped on Tiktok, its a single dad, friends to lover story. I didn’t like the plot due to the many holes and the book could have done with a LOT OF EDITING. It was too long. It’s a no on Else Silver for me.
