Cancun: an itinerary

My cousin and I recently went to Cancun for ~5 days and had a great time. We didn’t do a lot of organized activities but here are something we did do.

*Note: Things I researched but didn’t end up doing are denoted with a `` (asterisk)*

Temple of Kukulman, Chichen Itza

Activities

  • Chichen Itza and Cenote exploration - Booking link

    • Note the lunch was a bit early for us so you can definitely go lighter on the breakfast. Lunch didn’t however taste good at all.

  • Playa Delfines (Dolphin Beach)

  • Isla Mujeres day trip

    • Take the Ultramar ferry over but book tickets on site since they gave us a lot of grief over our electronic trickets.

    • Grab a golf cart! It was expensive but we had the most fun just zipping around.

    • Beach time at Playa Norte and hit up other small beaches that are a bit more shaded along the eastern coast.

    • Playa Sur view point.

  • Snorkeling* Booking link

Food

  • Meals

    • Tacos Rigos - Best food of the entire trip.

    • Surfin’ Burritos - Californian stye burritos and HUGE drinks. Note: very little seating.

    • Chambao Cancun (Fancy place for ceviche and cocktails) - Food was good, dessert and drinks were mid. The ambience was amazing!

    • We also ate at the Westin Resort where we were staying a lot and the food was way better than expected. Drinks were weak though.

Shopping

  • Mercado 28 for food and souvenirs
