Books I read in May 2024

I read so many books in April, 2024 that I forgot to write half of them down. So here is a mashup of books I forgot to mention in April and books I ACTUALLY read in May, 2024.

Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

This book is filled with so many flaws that I just couldn’t enjoy it one bit. There were some good and cute scenes but the overall plot was just so riddled with “that wouldn’t happen in the real world“ that I couldn’t recommend this book.

Loathe to Love you by Ali Hazelwood

Ali Hazelwood wrote three STEM haters to lovers story that exist in the same universe! What more could you want? As you go through the short stories you get to see the previous couples pop up in cameos which makes this collection all the more sweeter! Go on and read it! You won’t regret it!

Glossy by Marisa Meltzer

As a follower and consumer of Glossier, I learned limited new information. In addition to that, the fact that the book lacks a view point or a central thesis makes it a mid read at best. You see the author insisting that we give female CEOs grace but then give none to Emily Weiss. We have her champion diversity but then not talk in detail about the race issues at Glossier. Not worth your read.

Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton

My only regret with this book is not picking it up when it was released. Tom Felton is hilarious, genuine, kind and introspective. This book is the insight into the man inside the skin of Draco Malfoy that we have always wanted to read? Is the man like Draco? Is that why he was cast? How did a child actor deal with fame? Was he spoilt?

Any Harry Potter fan will find this book worth the money spent.

The Impropable Meet Cute Collection

This is a collection of short stories compiled by Amazon that stretches over some of our favourite romance writers like Abby Jimenez, Sally Thorne, etc. Having read Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren I was expecting to like their story the least, but came out liking theirs the most, followed by Abby Jimenez's. The central thesis connecting all the short stories is that they take place in the same Romance Universe and all the couples have an unlikely meet cute story. Would recommend for light reading. Warning: you will finish this sooner than you expect.
