My style formula in my 30s

It’s taken a while, but I am finally starting to discover my style. I have a uniform that I can rely on to look put together with the least amount of effort. And the formula transitions well from summer to winter with only a few tweaks.

The base uniform

My base formula is simple - a T shirt and a pair of long structured at the waist, flowy at the bottom trousers. I prefer two specific items for this list. The Arket Crew neck T shirt and the Aritzia effortless pant. This is what this uniform looks like on me:

As you can see above, I really like the monochromatic version of this outfit the most because it makes me look longer. The shirt also isn’t too fitted since I am in a stage where I am uncomfortable in my own body.

Transition in seasons

This outfit formula is great however, I do need to make changes here due to the seasons. Some changes I have made are seen below.

Swap out the T shirt for a tank top to make it summer appropriate

Switch out the T shirt for a blouse for a fancier look

Add a coat in the winters

A note on proportions

As someone who is a US Size 12 petite, it’s important to me that I dress to look longer and dont cut myself off at an awkward length. So any formula I create needs to make my legs look long. High waisted bottoms that aren’t too busy is the order of the day.
