Perfect day for a Bay Area resident
Now that I have moved back to the Bay Area, I am already feeling nostalgic about the many things that I missed about it. So here is the perfect Bay Area day for a resident and it doesn’t even need you to go up to San Francisco.
Start with Brunch
San Francisco has some great brunch places, but Bay Area isn’t far behind, so here are some great brunch locations to start your perfect day:
Zareen’s Restaurant for the weekend Halwa Puri
Cafe Borrone for your American brunch staples.
Get some snacks
Once you are fueled grab some supplies for the remainder of your day, since we will also be working up an appetite and you want some fuel to look forward to.
Manresa Bread for the pastries and the Verve coffee to fuel your day
Palo Alto Farmer’s Market (on Sundays) - Specially the Rebel within Pastries from Craftsman and wolves.
Midwife and the Baker for classic pastries done well
Backhaus bakery for all the fancy bread
Get some sun
Bay Area residents love a hike, be it short or long. Pick from the millions of trails available to you but if you want to take it easy, may I recommend a walk through the following:
Pulgas Water Temple is a beautiful property, specially if you already planned to be at the nearby reservoir.
One of my easy sunset walk recommendations will always be the Sawyer trail dam loop. It’s pretty flat and you can always turn back at any point and still get amazing water views for low stress.
Filoli Gardens - there is no better plant heaven or a place that will make you feel more like you belong in the Bridgerton series than the Filoli estate and you can take your pastries for a little picnic which in my mind is better than a hike anyday! :P
What’s a better hike than one done while shopping - you can always walk around Stanford Shopping Center with a boba from 0& in your hand.
Walk along the many beaches at Half Moon Bay!
Dinner is the best
You’ve had a long day of eating but you can always do more, and here are some recommendations:
For Thai there is no place better than Farmhouse Thai
If you want Pakistani food and are willing to drive to Fremont you can go to Bundoo Khan and end your day with their Falooda.
If Indian food is more your style you can head to the Santa Clara food trucks (Pav Bhaji Hut, Momo Grill) and eat delicious Indian Street food from your car.
Reset
There is no better way to reset and start a great new day than by looking at the Bay’s lights and stars. There is only one place where you can get such a view and it’s the Sierra Vista preserve.
I hope these recommendations help you have the best day in the Bay!
