Lessons from vlogging daily on Tiktok

I tried to vlog daily in the month of April. Luckily April was a chaotic month so I felt like I had something interesting to vlog every day. On the other hand vlogging any other month would have been boring for the viewers. This is the first time I was experimenting with my voice being the audio track to a TikTok. So here are some lessons I learnt!

  • It’s hard for me to record my audio - I hate hearing my voice so I don’t get why I did this or why I have a podcast :P

  • Posting regularly at the local optimum time is critical over anything else.

  • Hashtags matter. Get the relevant ones in!

    • I wish there was a way to tell hashtags matter the most in getting my post traction.

  • Make sure you have a consistent introduction and sign off so your users know what to expect. This includes the audio message AND the visual message.

    • I should try an opening image that tells the user what video they are watching.

  • Storytelling in a short video is hard - specially if you are vlogging daily and have routines. You can’t show the same thing day in day out!

I will post my 7 days of … learnings so that I can narrow down on what content resonates the most with my audience!
