Road trip essentials

Having now been on THREE(!) road trips I have crowned myself a roadtrip queen so here are a few things I am NOT road tripping without!

Utilities

• Things in the back trunk

  • Luggage for the road trip

  • Tyre repair kit

  • Paper towels

  • Extra trash bag

  • Extra disposable cutlery

  • Sunscreen for face and body

  • Extra bottles of water

• Things to carry up front

  • Phone charger + Aux cable if your car is old

  • Portable battery + cable

  • Water bottle

  • Sunglasses (you can make them fun)

  • Phone

  • Hand cream

  • Sanitizer

  • A garbage bag or better yet mini trash cans for the car doors like this

  • Insurance

  • Wallet

Fun

Make sure you look up exciting stops along the way - and allow yourself time to explore snack buying opportunities, wonderful view points, the good bathroom stops. etc.

Things in the back

• Picnic mat for stopovers

• (Optional) folding chairs

Things to carry up front

• A fun non alcoholic beverage (coke, coffee, etc)

• A cooler filled with fun beverage options

• A bag of snacks and make sure you allow plenty of opportunities to buy snacks along the way too. That’s the best part of a roadtrip!
