Mexico City: an itinerary

Mexico City is one of those places I have always wanted to go to for the food. And rest assured I will be back there but this time with a group of people so that I can eat more and more and more.

Accommodation

  • We stayed in an AirBnB in Roma Norte - and I would 100,000% recommend staying in this area for all the lovely walks!

Activities

  • Walk around Roma Norte

  • Walk around Colonia Condesa

  • Take a boat ride in the Xochimilco Floating Gardens

  • Frida Kahlo Museum* - My absolute regret is missing visiting this museum.

  • Palacio Nacional*

  • Teotihuacán - The ancient Mesoamerican pyramids of Teotihuacán

  • Coyoacan Market for authentic souvenirs!

  • Musuem hopping* (I did none of them)

    • Museo Soumaya

    • Museo Nacional de Antropología

    • Chapultepec Castle and the park Bosque de Chapultepec around it

  • Go watch wrestling at Lucha Libre*

Food

  • Meals

    • Frëims for brunch!

    • Por Siempre Vegana - vegan tacos ftw!!!

    • El Califa Roma for your fast fodo tacos

    • Milk Pizzeria - it had one of the best pizzas I have eaten in my life!

    • Contramar - no trip to Mexico City is complete without stoppig at this famous restaurant - and it’s definitely not overhyped!

    • Masala y Maiz - a combination of Indian and Mexican food with a communist spin - it’s not for everyone!

    • Niddo* - for brunch

  • Bakeries and cafes - go there for an afternoon treat

    • Panaderia Rosetta - if you follow no other recommendation please follow this one.

    • El Moro Churerría - for all the churros you could eat!

  • Fine dining

    • Pujol* - Assuming you can get a reservation, I am considering planning a trip to Mexico City just so that I can go here

    • Quintonil* - Assuming you can get a reservation, I am considering planning a trip to Mexico City just so that I can go here

  • Utilitario Mexicano for cute souvenirs

  • Onora for decor pieces made in Mexico

  • Casa Bruna Roma - for Mexican food souvenirs!
